This region houses the capital of Namibia, Windhoek as well as the Hosea Kutako International Airport where most of the international hunters arrive.

This region stretches from the Kalahari veld area around Gobabis in the east to the high mountain area of the Khomas Hochland in the west. The northern border is around Okahandja with its typical Bushveld, the southern border is the Desert area near Mariental.

This region is mainly used for plains game hunting but leopard and other smaller predators are also available here. No big game hunting is done in the central region. Most hunting farms in this region is within 2 ½ hour’s drive from the airport.

Plains game like kudu, oryx, eland, impala, springbuck, hartebeest, warthog, blesbuck, giraffe, ostrich, hyena and leopard are found in this area.

This region hosts several Outfitter Rifle and Outfitter Bow facilities as well as several business related facilities like taxidermists, trophy exporters, tanning, curio-shops and other related facilities.
